I cannot believe we are into May already. This year is going by like crazy and I feel like I’m having to sprint to keep up.
Every month I’ll bring you a selection of things I’ve been loving this month. Some are old, some are new, some are rediscoveries and some will be more than a little strange.

Dolce & Gabanna Blue Leopard Sunglasses – From around £100+
I love Summer. I love the sunshine. I love everything about it. I’ve been fortunate enough to experience a few sunny days in April and that means I pull out my trusty pair of sunnies. I bought these when we went on our honeymoon to Mexico back in October 2012. Everything goes with leopard print in my opinon
Although this is a previous season and probably no longer available, D&G always carry some classic leopard print styles. Prices start from around the £100 mark.

Tatty Devine Personalised Name Necklace – From £27.50
I LOVE Tatty Devine jewellery. Back when I was a broke student (as opposed to the broke adult I am now >-<) I would lust over their collection and scrabble what I had together to buy pieces from their collection. They were renowned for their name necklaces but I was always a bit too broke to justify buying one. I finally had mine made on a trip to London in their Covent Garden branch and I love it. However, with Mini Luxe being in a very grabby phase I don’t get a lot of opportunities to wear it anymore so I’ve embraced every opportunity this month to wear my name with pride.

Avon Nail Art Nail Wraps – Various Prices
Becoming a stay at home mum was a huge decision for me, not least as I have always worked in sales and am used to having my own income. I decided a while back to try and do Avon. It didn’t really pan out as my love for cosmetics tended to eat into any profits I made but it did make me allow to try a few products that I now wouldn’t go without. One discovery is nail wraps.I bloody love these things.
It’s hard to paint your nails at the best of times and I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve been half way through doing my manicure to have Mini Luxe have a meltdown and find it incredibly hard to pick her up. Nail wraps allow me to have amazing looking nails with the added bonus of being able to start and stop if need be. Plus they last! It’ll never replace my obsession with polish but it’s an easy hack for those who don’t have the time. Stick them on, file them off and your done.

Avon Ultra Colour Lip Tint Pens – Around £6.50
Another discovery from my book but one that I’ve sought out on other brands too (So far I’ve found Collection and No.7 do their own versions too). This quite simply a lip stain in felt tip format.
I have a crazy amount of lipsticks. The brighter the better in my eyes too. But, once again, small children and lipgloss/lipstick can be a bit tricky to handle. You want to smother your child in kisses but they end up looking like they’ve just stepped out of a colouring book and become sticky in Russian Red by MAC.
I have products to seal lipstick which work but can affect the finish so I’ve been looking for holy grail products in order to minimise transfer but still look good whilst parenting. These are brilliant. They stay on my lips. The felt tip allows me to precisely apply it to my cupids bow and they last all day with minimum touch ups. The smell is peachy, though a tad chemically for my liking but at the end of the day it’s a small price to pay.
The two I have are in Freesia (a magenta tone) and Strawberry (brownish red, edging towards a darker nude)

Urban Decay with Gwen Stefani Lipstick in Firebird – £16
One of my biggest influences as I was growing up was Gwen Stefani. I literally ate, sleep, breathed this woman for several years of my life. I had clothes from her L.A.M.B and Harajuku Lovers lines. CDs from No Doubt and solo stuff. Saw her in concert and even got to meet her once (she was absolutely lovely and I cried like a little girl. For shame!)
As I’ve got older my interest has waned somewhat, not because I don’t like her but you tend to grow out of these infatuations. When I heard that she was launching some make up with Urban Decay I was very excited and then slightly disappointed as it was geared up towards her complexion (very pale) and I am not (olive toned). This meant the eyeshadows and the blushes were out and I left it at that. Then I saw this and I had a real internal struggle. Money is tight for me at the moment but… SO PRETTY.
I took the plunge and treated myself and I love it. It’s a wonderful bluey/purple magenta and is wearable but still quite dramatic. It’s not something I get to wear a lot (baby kissing transfer issues) but it makes me feel super glam whenever I wear it.
